Elections

Candidates will stand for election to the 2019 SLA Solo Librarians Division Board of Directors for the following positions in September 2018:

Chair-Elect: Three year term, January 2019 to December 2021. The Chair-Elect will serve as Chair-Elect in 2019, Chair in 2020, and Past Chair in 2021. The Chair-Elect will also serve as the Solo Division Program Planner for the 2020 SLA Annual Conference (with support from the education committee). The individual holding the position participates as a member of the Executive Board, and leads the Division as Chair during the second year. This position is a great way to increase your leadership and communication skills, expand your professional network and increase your exposure to information and library science best practices.

Secretary: Two year term, January 2019 to December 2020. The Secretary keeps an approved record of all meetings of the Division and board, is the custodian of approved governing documents, and signs legal documents jointly with the chair.  The individual holding the position participates as a member of the Executive Board. This position is a great way to increase your leadership, communication, and organizational skills, expand your professional network, and develop your knowledge of parliamentary procedures.

Chair-Elect: Three year term, January 2020 to December 2022. The Chair-Elect will serve as Chair-Elect in 2020, Chair in 2021, and Past Chair in 2022. The Chair-Elect will also serve as the Solo Division Program Planner for the 2021 SLA Annual Conference (with support from the education committee). The individual holding the position participates as a member of the Executive Board, and leads the Division as Chair during the second year. This position is a great way to increase your leadership and communication skills, expand your professional network and increase your exposure to information and library science best practices.

Treasurer: Two year term, January 2020 to December 2021. The Treasurer maintains all financial records of the Division in accordance with Association Practices and submits required reports to the Association office accurately and on time. The individual holding the position participates as a member of the Executive Board. This position is a great way to increase your leadership, communication, and organizational skills, expand your professional network, and increase your exposure to budgets and fiscal policies without having that as a “duty” at work.
