#SLAers Flying Solo

About Us

Thank you for your interest in the Solo Librarians Division & our website!

The Solo Librarians Division is the professional home for solo librarians and their strategic partners in business, government, academic, and other “specialized” settings. We are a unit of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), a nonprofit global organization for innovative information professionals. To be part of the Solo Librarians Division, join SLA now!

We were formed in 1988 as the Solo Librarians Caucus. We became a division of SLA in 1991. Read more about our history here.

Division members include librarians, archivists, curators, and other information professionals whose interests include enhancing the role and skills of embedded librarians, one-person libraries, and other information professionals through education, research, cooperation, and dissemination of material on subjects of interest. Participating in the SLA Solo Librarians Division is a great opportunity to meet people, gain experience, and make an impact on our librarian community!

If you have any questions about the Solo Librarians Division, feel free to contact us at dsol.sla at gmail dot com.
